What fictional athlete or team would you most want to see in a 30 for 30?

Roger Dorn would have been a fascinating one. Enjoyed a decent MLB career, was probably an all-star at some point, and somehow accumulated enough wealth to buy not one but TWO major league franchises in an era when player salaries were still fairly modest.

To me, if we are talking about doing a 30 For 30, we don't need a reshash of the movie.

But what happened after, or looking at the events of the movie from a different character's point of view. What happened to Norman Dale before Hoosiers or Jimmy after are both good ideas. I said the '39 NY Knights because there was a lot going on with that team outside of the perspective of Roy Hobbs.

One of the best sports novels I've read was Everybody's All-American by Frank DeFord. The movie was ok, but a lot different in chronicaling the rise and fall of a campus legend. If you want a nutso sports novel (or maybe it isn't that far out there) try to find The Franchise by Peter Gent.

I would watch a Corbin Burnsen vehicle where we find out Roger Dorn actually made his money as a drug kingpin.

    I’m thinking Sundance channel.

Any of the Rocky opponents would work well in that vein. Clubber Lang and Tommy Morrison seem to have faded quickly into obscurity. How Clubber, especially, never got another whiff at the title would be fascinating.
There's some production materials or something out there that indicated Drago eventually became the heavyweight champion. I'm sure we'll get a lot of details about his post-Balboa career in Creed II.
