This thing isn't coming within 300 miles of Charlottesville.

I’ve done that in Houston twice. Needless to say I watched the tropical forecast closely both times.

I love that site, and I had not thought to look at it yet. Thanks.

I think I first heard about it on this board and had forgotten all about it until DQ brought it up on the "other" board.

@The Big Ragu Are there any beach replenishment companies publicly traded?

Looks like NC and SC will be big customers.

I’ve always had mixed feelings about replacing sand. Reminds me of the old commercial “It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature”.

I feel guilty that I am relieved by this morning's revised models, which have the storm's center going through South Carolina after making landfall near Wilmington

Best line I’ve seen was from Charleston folks not evacuating: “meh, we’ve been ignoring Florence for decades.”

A high pressure ridge is forming west of the storm that appears to be steering this thing to the south. It looks like my neck of the woods may be spared the flooding rains we were worried about. All subject to change, of course.

My step dad is going to ride the storm out in Conway, SC. He’s right off the main drag headed into MB.

    He’s fucked.
