You're vision is probably correct. The kind of turf they have has some strange looks under lights on TV. It looks like crap, but in person, it's fine.

I was watching the end of the game between Western Kentucky and University-6. There was an injury break. I'm no doctor, but I could see they were preparing the backboard for the injured player -- a rather obvious sign of potentially serious injury. Meanwhile, the talking heads were gushing about other results of the day et al, completely oblivious to the potential tragedy unfolding before them. Where is the director yelling in the guy's ear to shut up? No update on the player before the broadcast ended. I hope it's trivial, but I fear ....

Ole Miss beat Alabama in 2014 and 2015, and led the 2016 game 24-3 with 2:43 left in the second quarter.
Since that point, Alabama has outscored Ole Miss 173-29.

Alabama is also the first team in SEC history (founded in 1933) to open the season with three games of 50 points or more. It's early in the season yet, but this team is a fucking juggernaut. We might be seeing one of the greatest teams in college football history if they can maintain anything close to this pace.

Pioneer League teams frequently beat the piss out of DII teams. It's far better than DIII.

Alabama now has a Big 12 offense to go with its historically absurd defense.

    Big Ten's day
Rutgers loses by 41 to Kansas.
    Maryland loses big to Temple.
Nebraska loses to Troy in Lincoln.
Wisconsin loses to BYU in Madison.
Northwestern loses to Akron, the Zips' first victory over any current Big Ten member since 1894.
    Purdue loses to Missouri.

The Ohio State-Penn State winner had better be 13-0 on Selection Sunday.

I remember, back in the 90s, when Vanderbilt had a great defense/shitty offense and Kentucky had the awesome offense/bad defense, there was a running joke that if you combined them you'd have one of the greatest teams ever.
I fear that's what we might be seeing with this 2018 Alabama team.
For a few years people had kind of gotten a handle on them, or at least their MO. You weren't going to score much, but if you could play a great defensive game, hold them to about 21 points, and find a way to score about 21 maybe you could claw out an upset. Only a handful of teams (LSU, Auburn and Georgia) truly had the confidence to go toe to toe with them. Now they've flipped that script on its head and there's absolutely no way to deal with them.
These first three games have been like the first act of a horror movie sequel, where the overconfident hero thinks he knows how to defeat the monster because they did it a certain way in the last movie ... and then he finds out that the monster has changed its tactics completely and absolutely kicks the shit out of the hero.

Sounds like it'd be a good idea to keep an eye on the lines of games involving Rutgers, Maryland and Nebraska moving forward.

Also reminds me of one of the dumbest comments I saw lately. An NJ.com sports writer was doing a mailbag column about Rutgers recruiting and actually included the line, "the toughest division in college football, the Big Ten East."
Damn near shorted out my computer from all of the Coke I spit across the screen.

Is North Texas that good, or is Arkansas that bad, or is it some of both?

Texas Tech wins the defense optional game of the day over Houston 63-49.
    Tech QB throws for 605.
