Surf City is at a higher elevation (20') than Emerald Isle ('10), which is at a higher elevation than Topsail Beach ('7) or North Topsail Beach ('0). Topsail Island has greater variance than the Bogue Banks and most of it is low lying. If you look at NOAA's sea rise maps, the only part of Topsail Island that fares well is Surf City.

Regardless, I hope your property fared well yesterday.

Thanks. About my only real fear is storm surge blowing a hole right through the middle of the island. I really don't think that will happen in SC based on eyeball witnessing and what you just said.

We were in the business area of Surf City and my daughter saw Shaka Taco and asked if it was new - we had never noticed it before. So we ate there our last night and loved it. We usually buy groceries and eat in (loved seeing the Publix open across the bridge) and go out just once. So I'm not terribly familiar with the restaurants down there.

The two of us drove into Topsail one day to check out some houses there, we've never stayed on that end but may have to try.

This one makes me ill. It's the heart of Topsail Beach on the south end.

Parody, perhaps of the Weather Channel stunt:

Island Delights is a traditional stop for my family.

Oddly enough, my neighbor is part of the architects building the bridge that will replace the swing.

Repots regarding my building in Garden City SC say we never even list power. We had way more damage done from Matthew. Evac orders for the area lifted Sunday 9am. We are south of MB and north of Murrells Inlet.
