Ragu's economic moment of vindication may be upon us. Larry "Wrong Way" Kudlow said on Fox Business "we're in a hot economic boom with no end in sight." That's a sell signal if ever there was one.

 

Would it really be "vindication"? I think everyone knew this downward turn was coming eventually, as that's what all economic cycles eventually do. But if the turn doesn't occur until several years after one began predicting it ....well, .that ain't much in the way of vindication.

As somebody who grew up in the car business, I'm absolutely stunned by how easily people buy A) more car than they'll ever need and B) get upside down on the loans.

Dad's dealership can't keep the four-door version of Jeep Wranglers in the Rubicon package in stock. They've got a list of 20-plus people waiting to buy these $50,000 Jeeps. And the damnedest thing is most of them will never take those Rubicons off-road.
