Without arguing any of your points, I do not think you are addressing what I was talking about.

I think I was supposed to be replying to a different post. I just came from having a few Brewer’s Art Resurrection beers.

Some recent polling has been all over the place. Arizona Senate comes to mind. The one that struck me today was Tennessee Senate. NYT/Siena had Blackburn-R up 14 points in a poll released two days ago. Today, a Vanderbilt poll has Bredesen plus-1.

Not sure of the criteria of either poll. But regardless, that is a staggering difference.

Obviously, pretty much all polling is suspect after 2016. And as @Webster said, it's all about turnout. And how many votes Trumpublicans can suppress.

I’m 49 and have been voting since 1987. I don’t think that I have missed 5 votes in my life. The fact that people don’t show up to vote is just unreal to me.

Fuck him. Journalist just murdered, hacked to pieces. Five in a U.S. newsroom murdered a few months ago. And this piece of shit is still inciting violence against the free press. Fucking piece of shit.

Trump lied about being the best baseball player in New York State. About graduating with an MBA from Wharton. About being number 1 in his class at Wharton. About meeting his wife when she was a skier at the Montreal Olympics (which was a summer Olympics for those keeping score). About the fact that he got only a $1 million loan from his father and paid it back. And on and on and on.

But it’s worked for him. And these yokels love the fact that they know he isn’t telling the truth but he gets away with it.

I have heard these rallies compared to bad lounge acts. That is exactly what they are.
You would think he would get better at them after performing four or five times a month.
Even if you agree with the guy he is painfully unfunny.

Same. I LOVE to vote. It's a tremendous feeling. Haven't missed many since my first year in 1992. The number of people who don't vote is hugely upsetting. Especially because the vast majority of this country share Dem positions.

I know it's not easy. And the GOP is trying to make it as hard as possible to vote. But it's worth it.

Of course, I also like jury duty. Civic duty isn't everyone's idea of fun.

If you are a woman or African-American, I would think that you would take extra pride knowing that the right to vote was hard fought. First time I took my daughter in with me when she was a baby, I almost started crying. And I took her in the polls with me when I voted for Obama when she was 3 and explained to her why this was such a big deal (even if she had no idea) and for Hillary when she was 11 (and she insisted on being the one to press the button and pull the lever).

That’s why I hate voter suppression so much. Win on your ideas, not by tilting the playing field.
