Is it? I see all these signs about kindness and being kind and all that - how kind is it to yell at someone in a restaurant, on the street, anywhere?
"Yell" with your vote and don't make a fucking scene in public.

I've posted about this before, but the electorate has the right to make its feelings and opinions known more frequently than once every six years.

And while I agree with the idea that it's impolite to chase a Senator out of a restaurant, it's still a great deal better than rioting or burning Newark or Baltimore to the ground.

A big part of the problem being that Americans have relatively little contact with their representatives these days, because the politicians spend a great deal of time and effort and money hiding from them.

We've also criminalized peaceful protest, and limited access to the ballot box.

How are people in a republic going to make themselves heard otherwise?

Fair enough - but do you really think it does one iota of good? You think ol' Mitch or any of the others go home after being berated and think, "Damn, he's right?"
    I doubt it.

You have an odd definition of heckling. I don't see it as heckling. I see it as harassing. And both make you look like an asshole.

I'm not sure changing Mitch McConnell's mind is the point.

I think ethical and moral dissent from bad state policy is its own reward; I think speaking up against corruption is the duty of every citizen; I think making the vast uncommitted middle of this country aware of the corruption and bad policy they condone with their silence is the first step toward positive change.

Remaining silent always helps the oppressor or the crook. Always.
