Amazingly this won't be a big deal, because the asshole has lowered the bar so far over the last couple of years. But this astounds me. The whole PURPOSE of the trip was paying his respects on Armistice Day. Otherwise, there was no reason to go there.

Once he gets there, though, he can't bother to take an hour drive to a monument and act like the fucking president? The weather isn't an excuse. Never mind that the right thing to actually do, would probably be to take a trip to the Meuse-Argonne Cemetery where tens of thousands of Americans were buried. This was like the bare minimum. Otherwise he could have stayed home and watched TV with a bucket of fast food chicken.

I am not a rah rah military type. But you sign on for a bunch of things when you choose to be president. It's actually an important part of the job, because it projects America as a stable place to the rest of the world, which is important because of our size and might. We want others to see us as steady and responsible. WWI was a total bloodbath, and it is a major thing that connects France and the U.S. It actually should be a source of pride for the U.S. that we were there in their hour of need. It's difficult enough maintaining the memory of something that distant with a population that is downright stupid, but now we have an absolute moron in the oval office whose sense of history doesn't extent beyond what was on cable TV this morning. It's embarrassing.

Remember, the fundamental at the basis of Trump's appeal as a politicians is convincing his followers that everyone is as shady as he is, that everyone is as dishonest, and that you need him on your side doing the dishonest things for you or you'll be outgunned.

All this fake outrage about fraud in Florida and Arizona that they know is actually normal vote-counting is setting the stage for the future where he runs nakedly fraudulent elections.

I don't think he is cunningly ever setting the stage for anything. He's not smart enough to be Machiavellian. I think people really err when they treat this clown like a mastermind who is playing a grand game of chess. His bullshit extends from second to second. It's that simple. Whatever bullshit you are seeing from him today? It's because it is giving him some form of instant gratification today. In fact, he'll go for that instant gratification when everyone else can see that he's screwing himself with regard to something in the future.

The fact that he is doing something immoral or dishonest isn't part of a grand plan to set up something in the future that is dishonest or immoral. It's simply that he's a bullshit artist who acts dishonest and immoral. ... in a moment to moment way. This is who he is.

    I don't think it's particularly mastermind-y. It's a gut-level worldview that many people share.

Meanwhile, it's becoming clear that California was even more of a blue wave than realized on election night. Republicans might have gotten swept out of *Orange County*.

I'll get to drive by the Nixon museum on my way to drop kid off at school, knowing that we're represented by a Democrat. A pretty shitty Democrat that I'm not a big fan of, but still better than a fascism enabler.

Another one to put in the category of: Could you imaging the outrage from the right if Obama had done this?

Punishment for Democratic victories in SoCal House races. Nice president.

Trumpists were awfully gleeful on Tuesday when they thought their boy had mitigated House losses. How about now?

They knew it wasn't true then, and they'll come up with another excuse to declare victory as needed that they will also know isn't true. Pointing on their hypocrisy will never chagrin them.
