Forget what Bush's last wishes may or may not have been, Barbara will have none of it and God help Trump if he crosses her.

At any rate, figure Jeb (and probably W) would be less than welcoming of Trump.

 

My hope of hopes is the family tells Trump not to show up.

GHWB was the last president I truly liked. He wasn't perfect, but at least he had the complete credentials to be president.

 

Fucko of course personally demolished Jeb's candidacy, has frequently dogged on GWB, and trashed the "thousand points of light" that was Daddy's trademark.

If I were Former President George W. Bush, I would issue an order that no current member of the Fucko Administration, no family members, and nobody purporting to "represent" the administration, is to be admitted to the funeral service, and if necessary, direct the Secret Service to turn them away by force.

That would include a fair number of former Bushies who have hitched rides on Fucko's current shitshow. So be it.

 

GW and Laura are the family's eldest now, so they'll have the largest say, providing Bush himself didn't leave explicit instructions for his service. Bush was the opposite of a showboat, so it's entirely possible he wanted a quiet family-only funeral, with a larger later memorial service for the pomp and circumstance. Trump might get to attend, but not speak, at the latter.

 

Considering the way Fucko personally trashed Jeb, has disparaged GWB and trashed the Thousand Points Of Light speech, this is the ultimate teachable moment that actions have consequences.

Normal civilized people don't pull shit like that, because they know they can't get away with it. Fucko needs to be shown he can't get away with it.

GWB needs to order the pig banished from the door.

 

Protocol may demand some sort of Trump presence, but I think Gee is on the right track. Getting nauseous thinking what a Trump eulogy would sound like.

 

The elder Bush is too classy to demand to his kids that Trump not be invited. His reverence of the presidency and the lineage of it will outweigh his personal feelings. I expect all the living Presidents past and present to be invited to his funeral. Of course Trump didn't show up at Barbara Bush's funeral but now we're hitting an election cycle and he needs Texas to show up for him again.
