To be a speech therapist, you need a masters degree to get a job. That’s not a Dr. It’s what’s expected in the field.

That’s 18+6=24.

I don’t know how much full time university student insurance costs, but hopefully it’s not much.

The American armed forces has more blood on its hands than Nazis ever did. You might as well tell people to join the Schutzstaffel because of its dental plan. Soldiers are psychopaths.

 

Uh, you just might want to check mortgage rates in 1980 vs. 2018.

You may have been paying only 1.6 times a household income in PRINCIPAL back then, but you were fucking clobbered in interest. You would have paid $153,000 in interest on a $40,000 loan.

 

If you include the 242 year history of the US Armed Forces compared to the Nazi’s from 1933 - 45, the Nazi atrocities were worse.

My mother never made more than $20,000 a year. She was able to buy a house in reasonable condition in a Midwest city with a six figure population for $36,000 in the early 90s.

If I had her job today, I'd be making $28,000 a year. If I were to buy a similar house in the same city that's in similar condition as to the one she purchased 25+ years ago, I'd be paying at least double what she paid.

Mortgage rates aren't the problem. Cost of living is. Lower to middle paying jobs have had extraordinarily stagnant salaries and it's choking off the buying power of an entire generation.
