It's worse than that. It started out to be that Barr was going to give a presser at 9 and take questions from the press, none of whom had read the report yet. I figure the point of that was for Barr to get a few talking points on TV to make Trump happy. Now?

 

We seriously are having a press conference before anyone sees the report? This is some banana republic shit on steroids.

 

Problem is...it works, just like the summary did.

 

UPDATE: President Trump announced this evening that instead of Rosenstein and Barr, Roseanne Barr will hold the press conference.

The term "Stepin Fetchit" is entirely underutilized. Not to mention "Aunt Jemima."

 

Summary didn't "work." Public opinion completely unchanged, with the large plurality in polls saying "how can we know shit until we see for ourselves." This could very well have the same effect. The 30-35 percent Trump cares about will believe Barr. The rest are more skeptical, and I don't see how this show changes that. Face it, you'd have to either be a stone Trump fan, a Republican member of Congress, or a Washington press corps hack whose job depends on access alone to believe it's the whole story. As has happened every time in Trump's presidency, his administration of scoundrels and stumblebums have way overplayed their hand.

 

Wow. What a fucking mob lawyer hack Barr turned out to be. Fix was in from the start.

Thankfully, the spin will only work on the dumb fucks who were in the cult anyway. Public opinion won't change a bit. More motivation for the dems in 2020 (if that's possible).
