Do you honestly think people would have voted for a serial fuck-up con man living on borrowed money?

The reason why candidates and presidents release their tax returns is to show the American people that we are all in this together no matter our wealth or station and that includes paying taxes.

By withholding his returns, Trump shows contempt for the very people he’s supposed to be leading and that he’s in it for himself.

Also, making such weak excuses and going to such lengths to hide them makes it look like he has something to hide.

People have questions. The press is there to ask them. Your "assumptions" started out as questions.

The Trump Administration needs a total and complete shutdown until our country's representatives can figure out what the hell is going on.

Good thing the Chicago White Socks aren’t expected to win this year.

Actually, no. Since 1976/1980 there’s been an assumption that presidential candidates will do this. There is no legal reason to do it. So it starts as that. An assumption.

It’s none of our business. It really isn’t. There’s a law that allows congress to compel it. Congress should use it. The media shouldn’t do Congress’s job for it.

No. The reason why candidates do it is because they’ve been doing it for the last 40 years after Nixon did it in response to critiques that he wasn’t paying very much taxes while serving as president.

Trump refused, still won, and in doing so revealed how important it was to Americans. Not very. If you isolate the question in a poll, a majority says, yes, he should release them. But, as a priority, it isn’t one. If it was, he wouldn’t have received the votes.

Az, they did. Surely you don’t think we’ve learned new things about Trump’s character? There’s ample evidence prior to the election that Trump’s business acumen wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Trump University alone was a scandal.

People didn’t care. Now, there are various arguments as to why Trump’s message and delivery was so seductive, but it was, despite his crappy character.

Trump’s election was a commentary on two things: Voters, and voters’ utter contempt for our political and financial system. Bernie Sanders, a do- nothing in Congress for decades, damn near won the Democratic nomination for the same reason.
