I'd love to see Trump escalate and see how much Mitch bends when he "accepts the resignation" of Elaine Chao.

 

The former statement is my biggest critique of the modern college education. My students want to be taught by experienced professionals. They could not care less about a professor's research. They want practical knowledge that they can take with them to their internships and co-ops, and then to get jobs. Theories don't impress them; know-how, not knowledge, does.

The latter statement cannot be emphasized enough. Higher education is a scam (and the Singer scandal is a drop in the bucket), driven by the ivory towerites, who will protect their fortress at all costs. The so-called liberal world of academia certainly looks very conservative, from the inside. The rich want to protect theirs -- and get as much more as possible -- and fuck all the plebes just trying to stay afloat, the future be damned.

 

How much of the $28 billion we're paying to help farmers win our good and easy trade war goes to agribusiness conglomerates like ADM and Cargill?
