Geraldo's mostly been about Geraldo. Everyone remembers Al Capone's vault, but recall he also got booted out of Iraq during the second Gulf War for diagramming US troop movements in the sand.

A side note to this: Erin Andrews has never gotten the credit she deserves for being really good at this. She asks good, short questions. Give her 30 seconds for an interview and she'll get in two good questions.

Give Doris Burke 30 seconds for an interview and her first question will be 25 seconds long.

Kristen Ledlow can ask "What do you need to do to hold this lead?" and she will look and sound like she's doing a soliloquy from Hamlet. Drives me nuts.

Don't blame HST because others tried to ape his style.

Is that your way of pointing out his descent into self-parody late in his career?

Exactly. I would like to point out how a good amount of the SWAC schools shouldn't be D-1 ... the MEAC is ran a lot better than the SWAC I feel. You could almost have a few schools from the SWAC drop down, maybe a couple from the MEAC and then combine the conferences and I think it would be a very competitive conference then.

On that note, South Carolina State had a BIG upset of Wofford in week 1 of the season.

When you have two movies made about you because of how much you drank and did drugs instead of actually writing, this makes you a pretty bad writer ... also known as the Ernest Hemingway of doing things lol

FAMU tried to move to FBS a few years ago but that didn't work out.

    Sorry to threadjack:

You could make a serious argument that Florida A&M was easily the best college football team in the state, pre-integration. They certainly would have beaten Florida State and Miami, and the Ray Graves-era Gator teams more often than not.

And Grambling might have been the best team in the country had they lined up against Michigan State, Notre Dame, Texas and the Big 8. Michigan State's mid-1960s dominance was directly tied to being able to recruit players like Bubba Smith and Gene Washington while southern schools were still fielding whites-only teams.
