Are you saying this still pays $10.80 an hour?

I can't imagine it pays more than $12 per hour.

Granted I probably have an axe to grind, but you won't be going here to get rich.

Newsroom stress and anxiety at all time high. Way understaffed for what is demanded.

Losing readers because you can't cover everything.

If a vet takes this, know what you are getting into.

If a newbie goes after it, let's just say your true love of journalism is about to be tested.

Don't think they have filled the full-time job yet, but they do have an intern to help out now.

New man is Zachery Combest, who was the sports editor of The Eastern Progress (college paper covering D-I Eastern Kentucky University about 100 miles to the east of Elizabethtown).

    First article appeared this weekend:

SELECT PREPS: E’town’s Been, LaRue’s Adkins honored

Last few time they had interns, they were there through most of July, so that helps.

Grind away, CKK. You and KYSW worked your asses off on GameNight, I can tell from the way it's been descsribed.

    UPDATE:

Tyler Mansfield of InsideHilltopperSports.com and The Sporting Times (based in Bowling Green, which is about an hour south of Elizabethtown), has announced he is the new reporter.

I like Tyler and have messaged him about the position.
He is young and energetic and knows what he is getting into.

Less than two months later, this job is open again.

Tyler announced his resignation on twitter:

Here is the new job posting on lcni (parent Corporation of The News-Enterprise and other smaller Kentucky papers):

Can't imagine why anyone would tire of working at a job that pays about what you'd make at McDonald's (for probably half the stress).

Kinda sounds like he has better things to do

No offense to Tyler, but resigning a job after two months just because you have a lot going on isn't the best way to build a career.

The mistake was probably taking the job in the first place. Commuting multiple hours five days a week while being a full-time student is a lot to handle. Must not be a desirable job if the best option was hiring a college student who lived an hour away.
