President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

People have said that when we talk of trump and hitler that we should talk about the beginning. How things started.

Most republicans, especially trump voters, would prefer the 13th and 14th amendments never happened. Most conservatives think black slavery is part of the natural order of the world. Even though most trump voters couldn’t afford a slave.

 

if only we had someone here married to a Finn who could explain how correct this is.

 

Maybe someone who married a Finn whose father sniped about forty Russians?

Soviets feared Finland could be used as a springboard for an invasion, so they wanted to head that off.

They remembered quite well how the Finnish-controlled Åland islands had been used as a base of operations for Germany previously. And, of course, they wanted to reacquire territory lost during the chaos of the October Revolution and subsequent civil war.
