That seems a bit over the top. What's Cuban's point?

Aguirre averaged 25 a game over 8 years for the Mavs wearing 24.

Dumb. He didn't play for them. They might as well retire 23 and 33.

Thought about you a lot today, @MileHigh , knowing the situational similarities of your tragedy. Hope you’re doing as well as can be expected.

@exmediahack Your absence will be a bummer. Hope you reconsider. Your perspectives on broadcasting, blackjack, Kansas City sports, among other topics, are worthwhile.

Yeah - just in the last week I heard his quote (which was batted around sports talk) about a woman playing in the NBA and then just last night, LeBron passes him on the all-time points list. Throw in the coming HoF selection...I'm guessing he makes the Oscar In Memoriam reel as well.

Magic was pretty shocking. Very shocking because at the time you thought it was a death sentence and we'd spend the next couple of years watching him completely physically deteriorate. Obviously that hasn't happened. Earnhardt was pretty shocking because it happened during the biggest race of the year and the crash in real time didn't look as bad as it was.

Thinking of others. Hank Gathers' death shocked the heck out of me. I was following his career pretty close at the time and he was an All-American and he was such a energetic player and him collapsing and dying on the court was a visual that I kept in my head for a long time. Along those lines Len Bias was very shocking too.

Thank you. Haunting similarities and as I have said here many times, I would not wish a similar situation on anyone. It's like a nuclear bomb has gone off in your life and you're searching around to find your way. Sadly, I know where the family is after such a devastating situation.

To have it on virtually every TV station does not help.

There is no book on how to deal with it. And I can never, ever say it will get better. It's there. Every damn frickin' day.

Doesn’t he have to make the Oscar reel since he won an Oscar for his “Dear Basketball” short?

There’s some hard feelings between Aguirre and the Mavs that predate Cuban by a decade. However, Aguirre should be in the rafters and Brad Davis should never have been there.
