If you call yourself a #girldad, you are a putz. For Pete's sake.

As a noted philosopher once said, what you want, a cookie?

Look, if you don't understand how Kobe's death impacted us Dads of girls and how he made us realize our role in their development and this world, I don't know what to tell you.

I love Scott Van Pelt. But to hear him give the highlights of the Capital-Preds hockey game, with the obligatory opening video screen shot of Girldad and his daughter, and then he had to somehow fit in "and the other seven people who perished on the crash...." ay yi yi.

The ceremony the Ducks did last night (largely ignored in SoCal) was among the most appropriate I have seen.

All 9 of the deceased lived in Orange County. All nine were recognized, including the two least-known -- Sarah and Payton Chester -- who were involved in the Ducks' charitable foundation. There was a moment of silence for 24 seconds. Someone shouted "Kobe" just before the clock expired, followed by a Kobe-Kobe-Kobe chant. Lots of quick shots of people in the stands wearing BRYANT jerseys.

Late in the second period, the Ducks scored a shorthanded goal. It was scored by Carter Rowney, who wears No. 24, on the 24th shot on goal for the Ducks, in their 24th home game this season. And it made the score 2-4. That was the final score.

And I'll bet some 2x4s were used to build the arena!

And there was probably no one sitting in Section 2, Row 4, Seat 8 because they had it blocked off.

The long time Orange Coast College baseball coach who died was #14.

I'm envisioning Pat Mahomes pointing up to the sky if the Chiefs score point 14 (or maybe the kicker)
