    South Carolina has open primaries.
South Carolina isn't holding a Republican primary.
Trump is actively encouraging Republican voters to flood the Democratic primary and vote for Bernie because he'll be easier to beat than Biden.
While that's a well-known tactic, and if I thought someone could actually unseat Trump, I would vote in my state's Republican primary, but I guess it's not enough for the Russians to meddle in our elections, FATUS does, too.

Free college is an emotional appeal. It is not pragmatic.

    I did that in 2000
Voted for McCain in the primary
He beat W in Michigan but not many other places

So - “your life has not been unduly affected by trump”. How exactly does forgiving student loans unduly affect your life?
Trump gave away billions to the richest of the rich in a tax break, but you’re pissed at warren because she would give away whatever much smaller amount to the middle and lower middle class in the form of forgiving student loans.
    Weird.

It should be noted that none of the policies being discussed are “free.” These are tax appropriation policies.

And most often the counter arguments are as much, or more, based on emotion than a rational discussion of the allocation of tax dollars.

If someone doesn’t think tax dollars should be allocated to providing higher education to our populace, that’s a valid opinion. But I’d prefer to hear where they think those tax dollars should go instead, rather than some variation of “I paid for my college, these kids should, too!”

Bombing the shit out of women and children in foreign countries doesn’t unduly affect my life, either. But I’m against that bc it’s wrong. Sorry some people have college loans. I got a car loan and I financed my fiancé’s engagement ring. Wanna forgive me those debts? That’d give me more money and help spur the economy...

Many of the people who go to college don’t need to be there, and have largely served to fatten administrative bloat and identity politics studies that have little purpose in the marketplace beyond making them more inefficient in the name of moral growth.

Higher ed is an enormous racket.

I suggest you read some of the economic analysis that suggests it's a pragmatic economic boost, that removing that amount of debt could not only help a flagging economy in the short term but enable long term investment, as well.

There are actual, quantifiable reasons for reducing or eliminating student loans.
