I saw that. And given my visceral loathing of tourists, my first, and most shameful thought was, "Thin the herd."

There probably were plenty of homegrown idiots, but most locals avoid that part of the city like the uh, well, you get it. Will Bill Lee follow suit with curfews? Bubba, please.

Also: Go disinfect yourself, Janna. (self quarantining what I wanted to type. )

From what I've always gathered, most mom-pop restaurants and shops are always about a month away from closing. I can't see how we won't see epic collapses of the small biz economy.

So I guess Bernie wasn't the first socialist to run for president in the modern era?

I just found something on the google saying Romney's net worth is only about $250 million. Maybe he can crowd source the rest of the $255 billion so he can be Santa Claus?

...or just tap into the Joseph Smith Estate bank account?

This will be closer to the Great Depression than the Great Recession.

You are really starting to see how Trump and the people in his administration really hurt themselves over the last 3 years with the endless bullshit. Because now that they need the power of a bully pulpit, they are getting tuned out. Larry Kudlow stood on the White House driveway and threw out a trial ballon about helicopter money being dropped, a la Romney (which in itself is hysterical, because it shows how hollow Kudlow's"free market capitalism" bullshit is; he is an unprincipled bullshit artist), which is the kind of thing that should have caused a huge reaction in equities. But instead the market essentially rolled its eyes and said, "No more words, all we ever get from you are meaningless words. Let's see something then maybe we'll stop the carnage."

Total cost would be $3.3 billion. Less than the cost of the F-35 fighter jet program, or about one half of one percent of the annual defense budget.

$3.3 billion how? There are at least 250 million Americans over the age of 18. If you want to send each of them $1,000, $3.3 billion isn't even going to get you much past Queens and a quarter of Brooklyn.
