He doesn’t have a plan. He’s just declaring the emergency over because he doesn’t like to hear bad news and hoping. The economic/medical pandemic version of pull out and pray.

The differences in rates of confirmed infection and of death between the hardest-hit states and the others are so dramatic, though I guess that's the case in a lot of the hardest-hit countries. New York has over a thousand confirmed cases per million and over 8 deaths per million. Ohio has 38 cases per million and 0.5 deaths per million. Oklahoma has half as many cases per capita as Ohio, and Texas's rates are pretty similar to Oklahoma's. We hope that by taking measures when he did, Ohio's governor ensured that his state won't get to where New York is now, or at least to where New York is headed, but I can see why Ohio residents who don't follow the news closely might think that doing things that have thrown so many people out of work is an overreaction.

Except for Louisiana, the hardest-hit states are all blue, and most of the relatively unaffected ones are red. Some of the individual state numbers are surprising - Virginia's numbers seem quite low, especially compared to DC's and taking into account that a big chunk of Virginia's population is in the DC metro area. I'm sure that testing differences account for some of the variation between states.

There can be no normal without a reckoning and justice. That's a very bad prognosis, but it is also the facts of the case. Some of these people must be brought to trial, convicted on the overwhelming evidence, and get at a minimum life in Supermax. In WW2. Ike and the other Allied generals made German populations walk through the nearest concentration camp. Make the Trumpers walk through emergency departments full of the dying. Then inject them with the fucking virus.

My mistake, the tweet posted did not have any attribution so I thought they were his words.

It’s sweet that you think so. They can’t see anything while they’re sucking Trump’s asshole.

I really hope Fauci is not infected. The Chinese doctor who pretty much discovered this was among the earliest casualties.
