I, and thousands of people smarter than me, started stocking up on PPE and dry goods in early February. Your narrative is simply not accurate. People in authority (and that includes hospital and other health care company executives) knew plenty by January to have begun preparing for the inevitable outbreak. They didn't, due in large part because the Trump Administration was giving them plenty of cover not to. Thousands of people would be alive today had they done so.

History is already repeating...where is the national and global effort to prepare for the manufacturing and distribution of vaccines? Are clean rooms being created by the thousands? Are syringes being manufactured by the billions -- yes, billions? Are databases being created to line up potential test audiences? Distribution networks? None of this has to wait on a vaccine being ready. All of this needs to be underway now to save as much time as possible when the vaccines are ready.

If we had leadership on a national level we'd be doing this instead of cautioning people about not drinking Drano.
