Our 13-year-old son has been playing drums for three or four years now and really enjoys it. He's pretty good. He's played with the worship band in big church, and his teacher was going to have him work with younger drummers at a music camp this summer that's not going to take place now.

And our 15-year-old daughter plays sax in the marching band and bassoon in the concert band. The only good thing about having a bassoonist in the family is that it's a college scholarship instrument, as in, there are so few good bassoonists, she can almost certainly get at least a partial music scholarship. We're just not sure if she's that serious about music, however.

No illusions of anyone making money playing music, but it’s cool to be able to play an instrument.

Dear City: Please don't fuck around with Aston Villa. Treat them like a pinata, just like you treat us. Signed, your friendly Watford supporter still petrified over relegation.

Good. Cooper is looking out for the state's safety, which the GOP will claim is crap.

Politically, he had to do it. If not, then what's the difference between all those people thumbing their noses at spacing, er, "social distancing," and what Trump was trying to demand at the RNC in Charlotte?

    Except for our next-door neighbors.

Between them and the rap-playing house nearby (the vibrations from which can be felt in our house), we want to scream, "Can't anybody play something with a musical note?!?"

Which school will be the first to incorporate Black Lives Matter polo shirts as a school uniform, then open its doors to the "protesters" . . . with a little readin' , 'ritin' and 'rithmetic thrown in?

From the squirrelly world of NAIA ... via Carroll College in Montana, I see that NAIA fall sports will be allowed to begin team practices on Aug. 15, and all sports except football can begin competition on Sept. 5.

Football games can begin Sept. 12.
