Nah Michigan is better than likely to flip back to blue. Not a guarantee but certainly not a fantasy. The polls have been consistently going Biden at better than the margin of error. We're still 4 months away and there's time for Trump to get momentum, but to call Michigan a fantasy to go Biden is not paying attention. Ohio? Yeah I'll believe it when I see it. North Carolina? That isn't fantasy because of changing demographics but it going red isn't a forgone conclusion.

North Carolina likes to pat itself on the back for emerging from the tobacco fields to the labs of biotech in its economy. A lot of people bought the New South storyline in the past. Through all these predictions of change, the state has only gone blue once in the past 10 POTUS elections.

 

Michigan isn’t a fantasy but it’s probably a reach. North Carolina is a red state with purple
Pockets. Lots of retired MidWest and NorthEast fiscal conservatives with moderate social outlooks. Ohio is Indiana-lite.
