    California, right?
I'm wondering how many states will actually play HS football and if their players will suddenly get greater college opportunities than they might otherwise have enjoyed. If you're a coach and you're considering two comparable players for a spot, you'd have to pick the guy who played in 2020 -- assuming he played well -- over the guy who didn't.

This is an indication CA HS sports are not coming back this fall.

    Both.

Yes, California. In short: All sports crunched into two seasons in the second semester. Exact calendar won't be set until next month.

The baseball draft probably was a good indicator of how recruiting will go. While some teams went against the chalk, it seemed like for the most part, front offices had solid scouting reports already in place and stayed on the conservative side, drafting known quantities.

Anybody worth their weight as a FBS D1 recruiter has extensive notes on every kid in the 2021 class: from summer camps, junior class film and early commitments. The no-brainers aren't going to fall out of the mix just because they will miss 2020. It's the fringe guys, the "athletes" without a specific position or guys with growth spurts who might have gotten a surprise offer from a big school with a standout senior season that might be hurt. But what percentage of HS players might that be? 1%? 2% 3%?

The odds of winding up at UCLA instead of a Fresno State commit because of your senior season are still long. You probably have a better chance as a walk on at that point.

What I'm interested in is if the conferences that have canceled or postponed will suffer long-term recruiting imbalances to those who actually try to play some sort of season, especially when it comes to transfers and fifth-years.

However, that's all moot if the virus goes undefeated, Pawwwwl.

Glad I'm not the only one. Long-winded rehash of everything we already knew.

Looked to me like it was going to be about changing spring football to permit intercollegiate exhibitions, about which I care absolutely nothing.
