Well...not quite. BLM is organized in receiving and moving donations. It's a slogan that leads to a funding strategy and mechanism. And it's effective.

Other progressive movements have been similarly clever. The face of the new gun right protests are children, with a strong, organized collection of adults building the systems that pull in the money and stage the events. On climate change, the face is How Dare You, also a child, and also especially not a scientist, but a moral clarion against whom there is, according to progressives, no legitimate criticism because how dare you.

Conservatives don't really understand it. They're too mad at it and perhaps too prosaic to grasp it.

Calls to oust local NAACP leader grow over anti-Semitic Facebook post

“The post, which was taken down, showed photos of Ice Cube, DeSean Jackson, and Nick Cannon above a cartoon image of a hook-nosed, yarmulke-wearing figure crushing a mass of people with a ring-bedecked hand.“

And the hits just keep on coming. Sporadic condemnation but nothing from serious national progressive leaders. He’s only the president of the largest civil rights organization is Philly and part of the largest civil rights organization in America.

Muhammed's statement makes it even worse. He did not apologize. He just said he didn't notice image at the bottom, claiming he was only commenting on Ice Cube, Nick Cannon and DeSean Jackson not being allowed to speak out. That means he is defending their anti-Jewish statements and lying his ass off. How the hell does someone in his position not see the entire image he is posting?

Not sure where to put this - but I figure the BLM demonstrations in Portland may as well go here. I don't know what the end game is. Doesn't seem like anyone is trying to broker anything. But as we've seen the longer this goes on, the more it becomes about "the protest" and less about what people are protesting about. Granted, having faceless out of town fed cops doesn't help things - but I know it's only getting more dangerous as it continues.
The local leadership seems more interested in letting the feds take the heat that used to be on them. But I also doubt there is anything they could do or enact right now that would get the protests to stop - it's the only thing going on in Portland these days. Also not a coincidence that it usually starts going sideways after the bars close down.
I'm 100 percent pro-BLM, I just don't see what the end game is in Portland.

It’s patronizing racism by the media and journalists that protects high profile African Americans from serious criticism. It’s almost as if they are patronizingly saying: “it’s ok, they’re black, they don’t really know what they’re saying”.

Feds gotta go before anything much changes.

That said, two had to die in Chaz/Chop for anything to happen there.

    Now Seattle’s right back it.

And why not? Who has the moral authority? Not the local police. Not the federal police. The governor and the mayor can’t really switch course without being called hypocrites. The media? Please. Until the left says “stop” en masse - and why would it, this is too good for their side - it won’t stop, chaos will be the end game, violence will rise, and it’ll all magically be the fault of one person until he’s out of office.

    Meanwhile:

Cleveland High football coach Ken Duilio says he’s been fired because of his job as a Portland police sergeant

Hell of an operation the rebels have in mind.

Sending private security as regulators, possibly deputies as US Marshalls couldn’t possibly be a cause to incite violence. Sending US Military to quell Civil disobedience and detain without charges US Citizens cannot be a problem for skinheads who support trumps oppression. You’re a good troll alma. Skirting the line but still your point of view is a disgusting and inhumane representation of a loud and violent minority. You people have realized there is no punishment on earth to deal with your type of scum. And there is no hell where you’ll toil for eternity for your crimes against humanity. Whether you fire bullets or tear gas into demonstrators or just rationalize their behavior, you’re getting the results you want.

Matter of time before angry folks come hard with big heavy military guns and blow 50 of Trump's boys to smithereens in the streets.

I mean, you hope it doesn't happen that way.

People need to be honest think of the current equation:

protesters, what are they doing? Disobedience? There’s no real violence, no armed threats, they’re disobeying some order to stay home? Not congregate? What’s the harm?

Law enforcement what are they doing? Unidentified, heavily armed personnel, with threat of imminent bodily harm

it’s totally out of whack and we as Americans need to demand better from out government instead of armed response. We are not some dictatorship or monolithic govt answering to one ruler. They answer to us.

Portland has been protesting for 50-some days.

It’s the pandemic. There are a lot of people out of work, and just about everything is cancelled but this.
