My pre-COVID karaoke performance of this was a Jim Thome home run over the short porch in a place like Texas.

Kayleigh by Marillion is still an excellent song.

The ending is so fucking good. That is how you close a song.

Everyone loves to rag on the Eagles. They were a helluva good band before things blew up with "Hotel California". Coming up with the next album seems to have ripped the soul out of them, scared them. "The Long Run" is a prime example of excess, overproduction, micromanagement and cocaine. Perfectly tuned digital hand claps in perfect metronome time. When Fleetwood Mac followed up "Rumors" with "Tusk", the music was all over the place, but you could feel the members of the band in it still.

Anyhow, this is the Eagles playing better country music than 99% of what's on the radio now along with the sweet voice of ripe as a peach luscious Linda Ronstadt. Great stuff I fell into on Youtube.

This might be my favorite Linda Ronstadt YouTube clip: a cover of "Tumbling Dice" and a rockin' "You're No Good"
