An underrated song. Though I think it's a tad over-produced and the tempo should be upped a tick. The lyrics are great.

This one - also off of Glass Houses - is another good one, though obviously seems like a Beatles knock-off.

Volunteered at an event that featured Hoyt Axton. The man could write a song "...but the cat was cool and he never said a mumbling word."
"the dealer had a knife, the dog had a gun and the cat had a shot of rye."
I just realized the "dealer" in the title dealt drugs, not cards. Mind blown.

Got into country in the '80s obviously - Alabama was a big part of it. But damn, surprised Ricky Skaggs didn't have a bigger career.

Originally the band Big Head Todd & The Monsters had their annual charity show scheduled in June at Red Rocks Amphitheater as part of their planned tour … obviously the tour didn’t come off, but when June rolled around the guys said, “What if we played Red Rocks anyway for fun? And streamed it?”

I remember watching the original video of this song on Unplugged and figured Trey Lorenz was going to be huge, but his one album didn't sell. Dude still has the pipes 30 years later - Mariah's voice hasn't held up as well though.

Hal Ketchum's debut album "Past The Point of Rescue" has about 10 No. 1 worthy singles on it. So good.
