Why is it business-as-usual when the Republicans play nuclear politics (i.e., sitting on judge appointments in Congress, refusing to hold hearings for Merrick Garland then hypocritically rushing through a hearing for ACB), but if there's even a hint the Democrats might do the same, that's beyond the pale?

The shop said it canceled the event because it didn’t want the liberal media to spin it as Eric Trump endorsed a place that briefly employed a terrorist.

Or announce his plan for the greatest health care ... or respond to the pandemic ... or his plans for Infrastructure Week ... or ...

What does Amy Comey Bryant say when a Democratic Senator asks her how she would rule on a hypothetical? Why do you expect Biden to say anything different?

The Dems are not making it an overt policy plank. It's enough that it's out there in the back of some Republican minds, because it's exactly what they'd do if the shoe were on the other foot. So the implied threat to respond is out there if the shenanigans continue. In the meantime, the R's all sit there in wide eyed innocence and try to tell us that there's nothing pre-decided about her positions. Never mind that they've been saying that they were going to find a way to put an anti Roe-Supreme on the bench and repeal abortion rights for decades. Never mind that Trump himself said before his election that he looked forward to seating two or three justices and doing away with Roe. Never mind everything that the Heritage Foundation has said over the years or that she was their top choice. None of it is pre-ordained, how could you possibly slander Judge Bryant by implying that?

The Dems need to make a massively bigger deal about the whole SS thing, and point out that if Fatfuck's plan actually comes off, it means the IMMEDIATE termination of benefits (not the 2023 bullshit the apologists are pushing) for both SS and Medicare.

Of course, if Fatfuck's plan comes off, we'll be under fascist totalitarian rule anyway, they'll just ship Granny off to
the elimination camps in Texas and run her through the incinerator.

No, it’s weird. It should be especially weird to a group of journalists who tend to be more interested in information than tactics.

FDR, generally regarded as a successful politician, refused to answer ANY hypothetical question on the grounds those were not valid inquiries about what he was doing but asking for soothsaying on what he might do. If Biden doesn't want to do that, he can tell the media the same thing.

What’s illegal or unconstitutional about expanding the number of justices on the Supreme Court?

Court has been expanded and contracted multiple times in American history. It's not like it wasn't a big deal, but it's not like, oh, I don't know, refusing to leave the White House after you lose.
One more bit of info. The NY Times, WaPo and WSJ have announced they will no longer travel on Air Force One to Trump events due to reckless disregard for covid protocols on board.

The make up of the court is an issue of huge importance, especially if Democrats control the Senate and the presidency and would have the power to pack the court. It's going to be an issue. Mind you, it's only an issue because the people now making the hypothetical about Democrats packing the court an issue created the issue with their bullshit around Merrick Garland and Amy Coney Barrett, turning the Supreme Court into a no-holds barred street fight in which anything goes.

With that said, Biden's refusal to answer is strategic. He's playing what he thinks is smart politics at the expense of transparency.

Now let's take a step back. We have a president who lies like it is a bodily function and is the least transparent president we have ever had, and in his case, his deceitful behavior is rarely about a strategic political calculation, it's to cover up his shitty personal behavior and his corrupt use of his office.

Out of all the things to discuss right now, making Biden's lack of transparency an issue is like seeing someone commit mass murder and making a big deal out of another guy who you saw jay walk.
