    Um, no.

Occam's razor is the principle that the simplest explanation is most likely to be correct.

People can decide for themselves which is the simplest of the two explanations: 1) He couldn't produce documents he had promised relating to Joe Biden, because the only copies were sent by some unspecified delivery service, which opened it and made them vanish. ... Or 2) He is lying.

The motives are quite clear. He wants his audience to believe Joe Biden is corrupt. Since he can't produce any evidence, he resorts to a story about how there was evidence, but it was stolen. That way he still gets to claim proof Joe Biden is corrupt without the burden of showing it.

The whole "laptop" storyline was pretty rickety, was it not?

The administration and the kayfabe apparatus that feeds it - and feeds on it - is a weak season on WWE.

Maybe ask it this way: why wouldn't he just make it up?

When you put it that way, yes, Vince McMahon would have rejected this storyline.

    Because lying is wrong.

And making it up might damage his reputation.

And as a journalist, he's concerned with truth and objectivity.

    Oh wait. ...

Not totally. They did just have a "hacker" storyline with a mystery guy in front of a bunch of computer screens supposedly creating chaos, that they never really finished until a couple of weeks ago, when one wrestler did a "by the way, I'm the Hacker".

Trump is about as deep and calculating as a Virgin freshman teenager at his first frat party. Obvious in the goal but no tact and no skill and no chance of success.

Which Fox's own lawyers defended in court by noting that it was not a news show but "entertainment".

He wasn't making up a story for us. He knows we won't buy that bullshit. Now the mouth-breathers in his TV audience, they'll believe in copper bracelets that cure arthritis and that Trump is a savvy deal maker, and they eat his bullshit up with a spoon and ask for more.
