The airing of grievances has been going on for four years.

When after you provide said teaser of "Mudville 4, Shelbyville 2" at 10 p.m., copy editor/paginator proceeds to place teaser of "Shelbyville 2, Mudville 4" because "Shelbyville x, Mudville x" was already there as a placeholder and it's too difficult to transpose: Take a shot.

 

So many papers have 7 p.m. final deadlines these days that the soccer playoff game wasn’t going to make the print edition anyway.

 

The Justice Department is going to be really busy come Jan. 20.

 

I've already told my part-timer it's a full beer if either of us utter that thing everyone in sports is tempted to say every four years about election night and football Fridays.

 

By the way - Given how pretty much every stadium is now built with public money, or at least, variances from local zoning laws, I kind of hope that every pro franchise owner is shamed into opening them as polling locations on Election Day. (Or, conversely - That local election officials actually use them.)
