I think the future of election predictions lies in the minds of quants and Google Data Studio and Google Trends gurus.

Same in Colorado. Verify the signatures ahead of time, hit the button to count at 7 p.m. And I get emails on the process of the ballot.

Ballot mailed. Ballot has been accepted to be counted. If there is a problem with the signature -- which is verified by three people (R, D, I) -- you are contacted to try to rectify it. It's insanely easy and secure.

My big takeaway from the article:

    "
    • But, and this is a big but, what they are measuring is not the electorate (i.e., the average voter). What they are actually measuring is the average person who picks up a phone call from a random number and talks to a pollster. That is a very different data-set than America.

Give us dependable alternative data then.

At any rate, I think we're going to learn more putting people in a focus group and decoding Trumpism than going by Silver's broken models.

Let's hope not. We've got enough Google.
