That Times article said Andrew Wheeler, head of the EPA, is rushing to create a tangle that it will take Biden's team months or even years to undo.

These types of documents are not legally binding, but they do stand as the official policy of a government agency until they are formally withdrawn or changed. Under the new guidance document rule, the E.P.A. would have to formally issue a new regulation in order to withdraw the guidance — a lengthy legal process that can take months or even years, meaning that until it is complete, those Trump guidance documents will stand as the official policies of the Biden administration.
Jody Freeman, a professor of environmental law at Harvard and a former adviser to the Obama administration, called the rule a “little I.E.D.,” referring to an improvised explosive device, or roadside bomb, aimed at slowing a Biden administration’s plans to overturn Mr. Trump’s rules.

I’m old enough to remember the ginned up outrage when it was claimed Clinton’s people took the Ws off all the keyboards in the West Wing before Bush took office.

Now, Trump is going to take a shit on the floor of the Oval Office and set fire to the resolute desk before getting dragged out and conservatives will celebrate it as a sign of strength on Trump’s part.

He should 100% do it. And that way Biden can 'rescue' the military along with every other damn thing he's got to rescue from Trump's chaos and destruction.

Prior to this maniacal racist's defeat, NOBODY ever, ever cared about the voters of the loser in a presidential race. F*cker lost by millions in '16 and he and everyone else around him spent zero seconds caring about those who voted against him. In fact, he actively sought ways to hurt them.

Even if the Dems take the Senate and can enact their agenda, can Kamala Harris win PA/WI/MI in 2024? Who knows? I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't, regardless of her opponent. And it is hard to be optimistic about a GOP win in a presidential election, ever. 'Cause if it ain't Trump then it will be some other bad guy.

For God's sake. Fretting about four years from now hypotheticals is agita for its own sake. The people on here fretting about the Supreme Court stealing the election for Trump are at least indulging their anxieties in real time.

Republicans are like the Grinch Who Stole Christmas right now. Except they'll never grow a larger heart because they don't have one in the first place.

They're completely puzzled as to how the Democrats stole the Presidency from right underneath their pointy little upturned noses, because if they were in danger of losing an election, this is EXACTLY how they'd manipulate the results. It's a page right out of the GOP playbook. That's why they continue to try to figure out why the Whos down in Whoville are celebrating.

How could their guy lose? He got 12 million more votes than last time!
There were Trump rallies, Trump boat parades, Trump road blocks! Biden never even left his basement.
The GOP did everything they could to supress votes in a pandemic of their own making, so the numbers should be way down. But Biden has 80 million votes! How could that be?

So that leaves two possibilities. One, the election was fair and election officials in 50 states are on the up and up. Two, the election was fraudulent and millions of fake votes showed up because thousands of people are in on the scam, even where GOP Secretaries of State are in charge, not to mention Trump-appointed federal judges!

The logical answer: Send Rudy Quixote and his faithful servant Pancho Jenna to tilt at windmills in an effort to prove what's unprovable! To Dream The Unprovable Scheme!

Fake news has evolved into fake election results, and its biting the Republicans right in the ass. Because Trump believes the first scenario is fake (we won all these other races!), the second scenario HAS to be the true reality. When you subscribe to the rantings of a deranged narcissist, you ultimately get what you deserve. Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year to us all, every one.

There’s a MASH episode where Charles refuses to talk
Once of Hawkeye’s lines baiting him to respond was: “Charles, your parents voted for Roosevelt. FOUR times!!!”
(Charles grits his teeth but says nothing)

They probably think the Vicar of Christ is a position conjured out of thin air based on intentionally shitty readings of the Gospels

There's also a pretty good 20th century history of activist/left Catholic politics in America and elsewhere. Day. Murray. Merton. The Berrigans.

I think Francis is well within that tradition of 'liberalism.'
