I know I'm being a pedant and an undiagnosed autist about this stuff, but it bugs me. There's a prominent twitter ex-Obama official who likes to post "3963 people died yesterday!" or whatever variant is appropriate.

We have no idea how many people died yesterday. 3,963 deaths were reported yesterday, none of which happened yesterday, but between several days and several months ago.

(Genuinely sorry because this is not intended to undermine the point that a shit-ton of people are dying and that is a bad thing).

    Got it. I agree.
We have learned a lot about accounting in this disaster. As time goes by, the gap between number of unique people tested at least once and total tests administered will widen, for example.

I was wondering about this - no place is safe. Considering the workspace and limited ability to social-distance, figured they would have more stringent protocols before you set foot on land.

Antarctica has its 1st COVID-19 outbreak | Live Science

Found out I'm 7-0 with the test. I can see the Miami Dolphins with their champagne and I'm going to be so pissed off if I don't finish this thing off with a perfect season. My workplace has had about 10 percent of the workforce get it. Thankfully, no spread within the building, co-worker to co-worker. Masks and gloves work my friends.

I'm still stunned how many nursing homes are being ravaged by it at this point. There really should be an investigation.

My dad's 94 and in assisted living. Today I was told they haven't even been given a date for when they'll have vaccines.

I hate to overstate things, but in some ways I find that harder to believe than yesterday's nonsense horrors.

I got the call early enough to go to work. I showed the manager my test result so he knew why I was out.

With allergies, I pretty much live with a low level of sniffles/congestion/coughing all the time. That makes it tough to figure out if it's just allergies or something else. Mostly I'm congested when I wake up. Once I get up and moving I'm usually OK.

I thought about getting a Navage, but I'm a little put off by the price. Perhaps just using a saline spray would help.

    That's just cold.

(And it stinks, too. Nothing says "worldwide pandemic" like affecting Antarctica.)
