    Kathleen Blee's "Women of the Klan" was a shocking revelation to people who assumed the KKK and organizations like it were fostered primarily in the lower echelons of society. Even though her original focus was on women who joined these organisations in the 1920s and 30s, she went on to say that the Klan was no less present and dangerous when hr book was published. Your post bears out what she said for decades. It should come as no surprise that she is no longer pursuing this line of inquiry.

    So, short of re-education camps or straight-up extermination, what the hell do you do about this? Evict Trump all day, but this Genie ain't going back on the bottle in our lifetimes.

    Confiscate their weapons. Arrest try, imprison and when warranted execute their leaders. Expel their representatives from every legislative body in the land. Ruin their businesses with boycotts, advertiser boycotts, etc.
