The “Trump only loses because if the virus” is an amazing take.

It would have been nothing but a year of good, solid government without the Rona! He would have handled BLM so differently!

He would have run a solid campaign!

He came within 30k-50k votes in four states of winning. In states that only care about the economy when voting.

It can scare the shit out of us, but Trump wins in a similar fashion to 2016 if the pandemic doesn’t happen.

You’re applying logic to a country where 46 percent of the electorate is part of a death cult.

 

The greatest indicator of election victory in the US is incumbency. The virus allowed Trump the opportunity to squander that. Under normal circumstances, his normal pattern of fucking up would not have encouraged turnout among left-leaning voters. He had to fuck up in massive historic fashion, given a historic life-changing set of circumstances, which the virus provided.

 

The BLM protests also don’t gain as much steam without everyone locked down, even though that video is hideous.

 

Nobody makes a peep about mail-in voting without the virus. People aren't energized to stand in line for 6 hours to vote a month before election day without the virus. Nobody can say a peep about "JOBS LOST!" without the virus.

He STILL gets 75 million votes without the virus, plus the ones who didn't abandon him BECAUSE of the virus. Does anybody really believe Biden comes close to 81 million?

Trump provided the Democrats with dozens of weapons before 2020. None of them made a mark, in part because the Democrats kept shooting too high and missing (Mueller, impeachment). Until the virus.

 

Will there be a separate Trump thread tomorrow or will any shit he does be covered in the Biden thread?

OTOH, Trump never ever reached 50 percent job approval in any poll except Rasmussen and never led Biden in any head to head matchup from the time he was inaugurated. He was always unpopular. The whole Ukraine deal that got him impeached was BECAUSE he knew he was behind Biden. Trump's whole campaign idea in 2019 was that Bernie was gonna be the Democratic nominee. He had no plan for Biden. Could he have won without the pandemic? Sure, maybe. But it was no cinch. And let's face it, if there was no pandemic, he'd have fucked up whatever WAS issue one in the public's mind.

 

It will be the one and only politics thread, just like this one, I would assume.
