Seeing how my dad became more of a Bob Knight fan the older, and more asshole-ish Knight became.... i know the Trump answer for my dad.

Well my dad is still alive, and he did indeed push all of his chips in for Trump once he was nominated in 2016. He actually turned out much more open minded than anyone had a right to expect after basically being educated by a fundamentalist cult from kindergarten through 8th grade, but his Pensacola Christian School roots got him in the end.

My mother, 82, became fairly adept with a Mac when she worked at the UC Santa Cruz bookstore and bought one when she retired about 20 years ago. Of course, she's upgraded with the times, but still in the Mac family. Staunchly liberal, to the point where I threated to put parental controls on CNN when Trump got on bad rolls.

I am surprised elders love “Drumpf.” They should recall clearly that he has always been a “bozo.”

Depends on where you are. My understanding is he has always been pretty roundly hated in New York. Flyover country probably only knows the TV shows and sideshow hype..

I wish my father were still alive, my friend. He was sturdy and stubborn as a hickory stick. He would have survived the “Drumpf”-demic!

I am surprised you are glad your father and mother have passed on.

One day after my first shot, and I have some moderate nerve pain in my right hand (shot was in the left arm). Not sure if it’s related. I saw a CDC study this morning that said 11 percent of people experience moderate nerve or joint pain afterward. Reactions and Adverse Events of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine | CDC It’s at the top of the hand, not from the wrist like carpal tunnel.

Last year, my Dad had some health problems, had some surgeries and spent time at a rehab center (pre-COVID). One night, I went to visit him and he had NBC Nightly News on. Trump was on, doing something stupid.

One of the nursing home workers, a young African-American man, came in. As he did, he saw us shaking our heads at Trump’s stupidity.

He looked to Dad: “You don’t like Trump?”

    Dad: “No, he’s an idiot.”

The attendant laughed, and gave my Dad a fist bump. Then he said he figured since Dad was an elderly white man, that he was a Trump supporter, and was glad to see that Dad wasn’t fitting his stereotype.

Shot # 1 in the arm. The whole process took less than an hour, from front door out to front door back home. Shot #2 already scheduled for March 5.

I am very sorry to hear this as well. My parents have finally gotten both shots, but Dad's 86 and Mom's 85, and because we're Zooming every Sunday night, all of us kids can see the ravages of time in real time. Prayers to the doctors, nurses and staff to make her as comfortable as possible, and prayers to you and your family.

New Orleans has ordered French Quarter streets and bars closed next weekend ahead of Mardi Gras, months after already canceling parades. That led to the following fun screech on my timeline from a big pro life friend.
