November Rain was the ruination of Guns & Roses. Hair metal ballad at its worst/finest.

 

I never considered GnR hair metal. They were just a damn good rock band in the hair metal era. Then again, I liked Use Your Illusion, so what do I know?

Everyone seems to think it was grunge that killed hair metal but I put the blame squarely on this. That entire butt rockin' genre had been around since, what, 1985? They'd become so bored and so run out of ideas that now we're doing fuckin' chainsaw solos? I think the whole country went, "Christ? We're doing this now?" And when Nirvana and Pearl Jam came along it was different enough that the populace said, "this'll do. Wait...any of you assheads play a chainsaw? No? Okay, this'll do."

 

Do you think they just compiled all the tweets he wanted to send for three months into one statement?

 

Yeah but every one of those damn bands was trying to out power ballad each other back then. GnR always gets shit on for November Rain but I never hear shit about Queensryche about Silent Lucidity, a song that will give any stereo system high cholesterol.
