He doesn’t have a direct governing role in this sort of thing, but why not go hand out some blankets at a shelter or something and get the photo op out of it instead of skulking off to Mexico? Jeez, it’s like all these Republicans have forgotten they should at least pretend to care about their constituents, ffs.

 

Ah, they don't have to do that anymore. Their base excuses every stupid thing they do, and their lapdogs at the propaganda outlets not only excuse the crap, but also come out with every conspiracy theory and grievance for additional cover.

 

Bob Dole is a true hero and seemed almost to have a European-style sense of decorum. I am sorry for his diagnosis.
