At least Fred Upton went on the record. A few anonymous quote profiles in courage, too.

Really excited for the changes to the ACA. We've been stuck in that no-man's land of making too much to get help with premium but not making so much where we're not going to really feel $1300 a month. From what I've researched, we should be able to get some nice savings now with the new bill.

Need to get my Bumble profile set up. All this hot talk about daylight saving time should surely do the trick.

Well ... they did bail on the minimum wage (as Obama bailed on single payer in the original battle of Obamacare).
But if 18 months from now COVID is mostly a memory and the economy is getting back on track, they'll pick up enough seats they can ram it through in 2023.

Minor quibble: Team Biden should have staged a drop-everything signing ceremony TODAY. Live on teevee.

Hell, Biden should have hopped a motorcade over to the Capitol, walked onto the floor, and signed the bill.

In the end it doesn't really matter of course but you really really want to pound the message: "we know you're hurting and it hurts more every day we fuck around."

Will raising the minimum wage, cause stagnation of wages for those people who are hourly or low salaries workers making a bit more. 50 weeks at full employment at $15 an hour is $30K. Will people now making between 30 and 50 see a bump in their wages as a result, or are their wages completely independent of the minimum?

Fatfuck would have gotten off his gold toilet for a second to waddle down to the office today and make a big production out of the bill signing. Then again he wouldn't have been doing anything else besides clogging up the White House plumbing.

In the past, minimum wage increases in the states have tended to also push up the wages of jobs modestly or somewhat above the minimum wage level.
