Because the high priests/priestesses of "wokeness" are some pretty reprehensible people who engage in some pretty reprehensible acts? Because, to paraphrase Jack Nicholson's Eugene O'Neill in Reds, "Woke's a new Irish Catholicism being 'offered' up for my faith?"

 

Your very next post after I asked if police who do that are racist was that they are idiots. Racist appeared nowhere in your answer.

 

Did I miss an election that decided who spoke for "wokeness"? I know I didn't vote for whomever you have in mind.

Okay, let me offer this up as someone who might be superficially labeled as "woke."

There is a reason some of us who subscribe to progressive ideas bristle at "Woke" and "Social Justice Warriors" as descriptors. They have been co-opted by people who often have no idea what they are talking about. Many of them see themselves as White saviors who are "down wit'" the Pee Oh Cees and the Bah-pawks and Teh Gays.

Anecdotal evidence indicates that your garden variety SJW thinks they know best, they understand racism better than anyone else (including people of color!) , and they are -gag me with the silver spoons they use to feed their lily-white beh-behs organic fud- "vurry sensitive to racism.* They are also prone to tantrums when actual people of color want to have meetings without them. They are the first to lunge toward members of the media when stuff goes public but are also the first to bail when shit gets real. Long story short...** They suck.
