Honestly Ragu, not sure how anyone can disagree with the points you're making. Twitter is more like the physical soapbox that people climb upon to espouse views rather than the newspaper said people might clutch in their hands.

Twitter is the gatekeeper the newspaper business desperately wishes it still was.

SJ couldn’t exist without Section 230.

The fact that it promotes some posts, removes others for dubious reasons and creates algorithms for the top stories of the day does make it a curator.

We’re not going to agree on this.

Correct. I’m not a big foe of 230. I think the argument on Twitter - well, it’s their platform, they can do what they want - is a little simplified.

Yeah, what a simplistic notion. ... you create something, start a business around it. . ... and you -- the owner of it -- shouldn't be allowed to run it however you want.

Beyond that, the big picture issue is: the internet is not free and open with the idiocy that is the U.S. government (or any other government) putting its hamhanded and idiotic restrictions all over these private enterprises. If you are a civil libertarian, and not a wannabe dictator, you have to want Twitter (and any other service company that wants to do its thing) to be free to operate unfettered.

The fact Twitter is doing its censorship only on certain viewpoints is why I said newspapers should order their employees to get off now. Yes it's a private company that can do what it wants. Newspapers SHOULD NOT take part in this.
They won't abandon Twitter of course. For some reason suits still think it's smart to break news on Twitter, lol, instead of on their own Website. It absolutely makes zero sense. Even the rich, no-nothing consultants will tell you Twitter is NOT doing much for traffic on newspaper stories. Google is all that matters in that regard. ... But I'd like to see suits explain why they are allowing their newspapers to participate on Twitter when Twitter is in the business of censoring only conservative/right viewpoints and allows pretty much anything that fits the far left narrative. Talk to Andy Ngo or Whitlock about this. ... I'd like to see somebody explain the value of Twitter to newspapers in dollars. Please do. Ain't much $$.

“No man for any considerable period can wear one face to himself, and another to the multitude, without finally getting bewildered as to which may be the true.”

Also, if you’re gonna cite Andy Milkshake Ngo as, well, anything, you probably should just log off for a while and rethink things. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

Jason's posts on LeBron are well into pure madness range. That's the trouble with being a professional shit-stirrer, which Whitlock has been going on 30 years now. You keep having to top yourself to keep your crowd and before you know it, you're just another insane fuck on the Internet.
