  1. The Williamsport Sun-Gazette community newspaper is looking for a sports and community-minded journalist who is passionate about their work. We need a dependable and flexible person to cover and uplift our student-athletes at the high school and college levels, Little League and professional MLB baseball while thriving within a team environment. We seek someone who can write, edit copy, layout pages with the latest software and post stories, photos and videos to our dynamic and growing web sites. Experience preferred and we can train the right person. We offer a robust wage and expense reimbursement, excellent health-care benefits, paid vacation and sick days, moving expenses and a 401k pension plan.
We’re located in fabulous downtown Williamsport, a thriving city with robust civic opportunities and social life. This opening is immediate. If interested, please submit a resume and references by email and by July 1 to:
    JON GERARDI

In the middle of nowhere, but in the middle of everything:

    — Google Maps says State College is an hour away (I remembered it being further)
    — 90 minutes to Harrisburg, a bit longer to Scranton
    — 3 hours to Philly and Baltimore
    — 3:30 or so to New York, D.C. and Pittsburgh

I think the Mussinas are still a big deal up there. Mike’s brother sold real estate for a while.

I don’t know how “robust” the compensation will be, unless a lot has changed since my days working for Ogden long ago.

This was posted June 28 and said the deadline was July 1. Holy smokes how “immediate” are we talking here?
