I know as a 36-year old white person who plays golf, I’m supposed to like Phil, but I can’t fucking stand that guy. Or his fucking sunglasses.

Hey, not for nothing Phil, but if you don't want stories written about how you lost half a million dollars betting on sports with mobsters, maybe you shouldn't bet half a million dollars on sports with mobsters...

Organized crime is newsworthy. A six-time major winner popping up in court filings is newsworthy. Finding a tie between organized crime and a six-time major winner in federal court filings is newsworthy.

Phil wants to play it both ways, be the wholesome family man while also gambling massive amounts of money with shady characters and possibly engaging in insider trading to pay his debts and not having anyone find out about it.

Fourth of July weekend in Detroit - going to be tough to draw the big names in any event. Didn't realize the Woods event went away. Too bad, seems like DC (or Philly) would be a natural place for a tourney on July 4th. You almost wonder if his famous "choke jobs" weren't merely choke jobs, but tanking.

“It was so much effort for me to be here” says Phil. Tough job hopping on the private jet.

No kidding. It's not like he's taking the 2 a.m. Amtrak train back from covering an Arena Football League playoff game (which I, regrettably, can say I have actually done...)

“It was so much effort for me to be here and to have that type of unnecessary attack — not like I care, it happened 20-something years ago (you clearly care, you dummy, because you’re making an issue out of it and punishing the event and it’s fans)— but just the lack of appreciation, (what about the appreciation for how golf fans have made you rich, Phil?) yeah, I don’t see that happening,” Mickelson said when asked if he’d return to the third-year PGA Tour event. “I don’t see me coming back. Not that I don’t love the people here and they have been great, but not with that type of thing happening.”

And there are Phil sycophants defending him on social media. The wide-eyed adoration for him is somewhat akin to Trumpies. No matter what bullshit he spews (such as threatening to move out of California events because of the tax rate and ripping a golf icon in Tom Watson), they still fall all over him. Here's Phil and his lawyer, punishing tournament organizations, sponsors and fans by threatening to never come back to this tournament (not that a 52-year-old struggling to make the cut next year is a huge draw), because of an article that they admit IS FACTUAL. Then, having the gall to say he'll reconsider if 50K people sign a petition, which amounts to asking 50K people to kiss his ass.
    Fuck this guy.
