I like the full garden on burgers: lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion. Also throw in ketchup, mustard, and mayo, but light on all three. For the love of God, don't drown them in those condiments. If it gets on my fingers, there's been too much put on for my taste.

Crossthread to whatever online betting was doing that burger bracket a couple of months ago:

I made a trip to California last month and tried In-N-Out again. I wasn't that impressed when I had it in 2015.

I had exactly that -- double-double animal style. Along with a fry and a shake.

Overall verdict: mediocre. The sauce only degraded the burger vs. the one I had without six years ago. Fries were bland and shake was subpar. I haven't had a shake from a McDonald's or BK in over a decade and couldn't tell you what they're like, but I'd put In-N-Out's shake in that category.

I can pass on ever going to an In-N-Out again. I'd take a Wendy's and Culver's any day over them.

50 years ago this summer I had a Bison burger at Wall Drug in South Dakota.

    It sucked.

    I trust it's improved since.

Big golf tournament in town a few years back, and mrschef made a bunch of bacon cheeseburgers with eggs on them, and also made fried chicken..........FOR BREAKFAST.
One of the guys there........ you can just say the words "FRIED CHICKEN", and he perks up like a dog when you reach for their leach.
You have to have a hearty breakfast before drinking all day and playing golf.
There was 10-15 eating ourselves full and having red beers at 8:00 on a saturday morning.....sumamabitch that was a glorious day.

I like mine with lettuce and tomatoes, Heinz 57 and French fried potatoes, big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer.

(But really with cheese, mustard and onions. Sometimes with an over easy egg. Sometimes with bacon. Sometimes with guacamole.)

Medium rare, with a yellow cheese (but not American), ketchup, mustard, Mayo, tomato and pickle. If green chiles are available, add those, please.

I’m ok with American cheese on a burger, but it must be fully melted. Sticking a cold slice on a just-cooked burger seconds before handing it off to me is an abomination. I posit that cold American cheese is when kids begin to doubt our country, not some history class.

Is that before or after they learn about Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City in school?

I had an ostrich burger once. It was ok. It seemed sweet to me, like a burger that had sugar mixed in it.
