I'll be curious to see if Biles competes in the all-around or event finals.

 

Yes, I know that. I didn't mean to imply I thought she was a child. I just think about the strain that's put on these young women, many of them who carry this sport on their shoulders, when they are teens.

Yikes. That sound you hear is assholes firing up their laptops to write endless asshole columns/posts/tweets/etc. For the simplicity of the world, I wish it'd been physical with Biles. She's got a ton of unjustified shit coming her way.

Many people will look at how two of the biggest names at these Olympics have very publicly dealt with mental health issues and realize perhaps we need to reevaluate something. Assholes will, uh, not take that approach.

I'm not sure what needs changing, but obviously, something does if being successful breaks these athletes who wouldn't be where they were if they weren't among the most talented, driven, hard-working people on the planet.
