Super sky point to the great bass player for the little old band from Texas. Fact that fascinated me: ZZ Top has the record for the most continuous years without a lineup change. They formed as a trio in 1969 and never stopped.

Awww, man. I hate to hear this, even though we know it's coming to so many of the entertainers, musicians, and movie stars of our youth. I used to drink in a little dive bar he owned in Houston, back in the day. It was a few blocks from my parent's house.

Rock and Roll Heaven just added another bass player.

Their videos helped shape MTV's early legacy.

Those Eliminator videos made both ZZ and MTV plenty of money.

Billy Gibbons has a bunch of cool cars, including the Eliminator hot rod. He calls this one Cadzilla, and I think it's my favorite.

Man, Matt Keough's future ex-wife sure must have felt a chill during the filming of that video.

ZZ Top was one band that sure reinvented itself during the MTV era. I knew of them earlier but wasn't too familiar, but I loved Eliminator and went back and appreciated their older stuff a little bit.

RIP, but he did put in a lot of years, and probably had a hell of a time while doing it.

Love the band. Real. No BS Road Warriors. Great tunes. Something to be said for keeping it simple.

A friend offered a ticket and saw them at the Beacon in NYC about 10 years ago, and was glad I did. Have a little rough flip-phone video as well.
