One of my old roommates in the mid 80s headed west to LA the morning after graduation in his shitty car packed with a couple of bags and his guitars. He was off to make his way in the music world and whatever else transpired.

He lived for about six weeks in that Dodge rathole of a car. I don't know how it made it out there. Said he slept on streets, in well-lit parking lots, wherever he thought he could find to be somewhat safe and catch a few.

He ended up being successful with the music and a company he joined as the No. 3 employee. Later became CEO, navigated the sale, made bank and is doing well again with another company.

I've always thought the "Sleeping in Cars" stories would be a good series.

Original location of Famous Dave's, I believe. Hayward is a neat little town.
