At this moment I'm scrambling to find another doctor with privileges at a hospital open for surgeries for a relative who was scheduled to have surgery this week but was cancelled this morning due to Covid issues at the hospital where it was scheduled.

    Fuck the anti-vaxxers.

    Just a coincidence, right?

So apparently, I’ve been blissfully unaware that there was a Facebook page for parents in my local school district to exchange various ideas and information (I.e. “When do JV soccer tryouts begin?”) I’ve also been blissfully unaware that some anti-mask parents were using the page to complain about the district’s mask requirements. I also was blissfully unaware that the primary moderator of said page, one of the parents in my son’s Boy Scout troop, was removing certain posts for violating the no politics/no fake news rules, which was pissing off the anti-maskers (“He’s violating muy FREE SPEECH!!”) I also was blissfully unaware that there was another page for local school parents, that was just newly created by the anti-maskers, some of whom are either my friends or my wife’s friends. That is, until another parent in my son’s Boy Scout troop invited me to join the page, and, not knowing what the page was for, clicked on “join.”

My rule on never debating politics or religion online with people I actually know is getting sorely tested after seeing post after post of ignorance and flat-out stupidity. Sigh.

Most of these people wouldn't have the gumption to bring this up in a face-to-face conversation. They feel empowered and enabled by their social media silos.

Don't know if anyone here was part of the online discussion this morning about Phil Valentine. If you were and I made you mad, I am not sure what to say. Apologies are not really due, but I understand your anger. The sadness that was expressed came from seeing someone go from being the genial guy who went out of his way to make the square pegs in the media lounge and press box feel a little less like fat, dateless kids at the prom to one of those people who had the venom valve set for wide open 24/7.

It's hard to overlook the choices he made. I get that. I still have nightmares about the people I didn't get to say goodbye to over the past year and a half. Personal and shared plans have been shitcanned. I never thought my days would start with asking myself how much I hurt and if this is going to be a good day or not. The anti-vax people share some of the blame for this. Staying angry all the time doesn't hurt them and it certainly doesn't help me.

Back in the oughts, I remember how my side demonized Republicans. Rethuglicans, Republitards, etc. were bandied about. Someone who should have known better constantly referred to Michelle Malkin as "a screaming howler monkey." Of course, I knew we were being called "Libtards" and worse. That shit got old. Then as now, their nonsense had a body count. What I wonder is if we'll ever get weary of this and decide enough is enough.

Some of these individuals don't even believe they have the disease after they're on the vent and the SpO2 is in the high 80s. They are at sea, they're probably not coming back.

Some dog heart worm medications are also ivermectrin. Probably easier to take since they are chewable, however it’s likely not apple flavored since dogs are way less picky than horses. It also requires a prescription, unlike horse wormers.
