    My wife said she hates it that I have gotten so political in the past couple of years. I never used reveal what party I was registered in, as if it mattered. She is right. I have to back off.

    I took a two-week break from all news and it was exhilarating.

    I think there comes a time for everyone to back away from it. This is corrosive shit.​

    It would be easier to accept if there wasn't an overwhelming feeling we are living in the dumbest timeline, ever.​

    Well, when you consider what a dog will eat, it makes sense there's not much attention paid to how their wormers taste.

    @TigerVols it was an online Google thang. I have a feeling there are about a half-dozen of us (including me) who won't be asked back. I feel a little like I was mistakenly asked to a meeting of the Fight Club.

    I NEVER read the politics thread; NEVER posted on the politics thread; NEVER cared anything about the politics thread. Until about 2 years ago. I blame Trump (which is a statement I use for lots of things).

    A friend's wife is a Dr. in a Midwestern state. He sent me three lines of their conversation this morning.

    Her: Holy shit. All the patients I intubated last week died already.

    Him: Yikes.

    Her: The entire ICU turned over the weekend. no one is alive from before 8/26. Absolutely wild.
